Squalls to the left of me Squalls to the right, and here I am stuck in the middle with you. Plagerized Bob Dylan lyrics I know, but what a ride!
I know by now it seems that sailing is all about busting stuff and having to fix stuff, all at 0300, but occasionally the elements come together and you can have fun sailing. Consistent wind and a following sea with just the right amount of sail out and I was happy as a clam for minutes at a time going over 10kts flying down the waves above hull speed. Bubbles gurgling under the transom as you run downhill.
There have been a number of squalls coming through lately but we have not been hit by much rain. Pity as TUI could really do with a bit of a ‘car wash’ to remove the layers of slippery salt that have built up everywhere.
Falling behind in the rankings as we are sailing so conservatively at night but that’s OK. Still uncomfortably rolly.
Pleased to get into Port in 6 days if the forecasts are correct!
