We left Zakinthos and headed off to Sami with the main objective to pick up Sarah who took shore leave in Paros and wanted to see more of the island without the rough weather.
On the way to Sami we saw the big white ‘charter boat’ from our friend we met in Milos.;-)
The autopilot would still switch itself off and complain about steering calibration, but after a bit of fiddling we think we sorted it out. As it proved to be later the problem still remained.
Sami was wonderful with stern to moorings on the public quay. While it was still very hot during the day, it cooled down quickly at night and there were a large number of restaurants right on the water to choose from to have your evening dinner and drinks.
Evening entertainment was provided by young children carrying out traditional dance routines in the local square.
Great to see Sarah and have her join the boat again!
The Secrets of Sami
Sami is a nice coastal town on the picturesque Ionian island of Kefalonia, with a lovely quayside ringed with great bars and restaurants. It is big enough to have everything needed to provision your boat and has a number of interesting places to visit ashore.
It is also the second-largest port in Kefalonia and provides good shelter whether heading north or south along the Ionian.
