We left Sorrento for Ponza departing early. It was a very rolling passage to Ponza, with a 3 to 4 meter swell coming from multiple directions. Very uncomfortable passage and we arrived at 1750 in the evening very tired. Sailed for 2 hours and motored for 8 hours. The sun seemed to be particularly fierce and I had to come up with creative ways to wear my hat to stop the reflected sunshine off the water.
A lot of boats arrived late to the anchorage. Very crowded, a very nice village, though.
We selected Ponza as a good stopping point to kick off our longer passage across the Tyrrhenian Sea to the northern tip of Sardinia.
