We departed Sami for Paralia Mamagkas Bay a beach on northern end of Ithaki all of it motoring. Departed at 0722 and arrived in the bay just as big catamaran left giving a a great anchorage in sand and weed. Arrived at 1010, depth 4.4 meters.
Dinghied ashore to the restaurant on the beach and met a lovely family from England. They keep their sailboat in Greece and come out on vacation to sail around the area. Great idea! Transport and accommodation included and a new stop every day 🙂
The father was a facinating guy who was a deep sea diver who did maintenance at the bottom of oil rigs in the north sea of the UK. Some of the stories he would tell!

Ithaca, Ithaki or Ithaka is a Greek island located in the Ionian Sea, off the northeast coast of Kefalonia and to the west of continental Greece. It is the second-smallest of seven main Ionian Islands, after Paxi.
Modern Ithaca is generally identified with Homer’s Ithaca, the home of Odysseus, whose delayed return to the island is the plot of the classical Greek poem the Odyssey. This however has often been disputed as the description doesn’t line up with the islands geology,
