Departed Agios Elena Bay and made for Taxiarchs Bay hoping to find shelter for Meltemis still blowing around the peloponnese peninsula. The bay is situated just south of Porto Kagio. Sailed almost all the way in 22 to 30 knots of wind. The bay was so small and the winds were not providing enough shelter that we couldn’t navigate and was very dangerous. Winds were coming down Little gullies and valleys. Leaving the bays entrance we tried heading north to Porto Kagio but waves made it impossible so we headed around the tip to Marmari Beach on the opposite coast of Port Kagio.  Football field sizes of good sand great for anchoring and holding in a blow. Arrived very tired at 1300 but we were in shelter with great views, a great beach, bar and restaurant we could dingy to, and with the knowledge we could sleep well at night. What a relief!
